January 19, 2014 (Waterville, Maine) – Anja Gruber (UVM) claimed the women’s 5km CL on Day 1 of the Colby Winter Carnival at the Quarry Rd. Recreation Area on Friday with a 20-second lead over Dartmouth’s Annie Hart with UVM’s Stephanie Kirk another 30s back.

In the men’s 10km CL race it Dartmouth’s Silas Talbot finishing first with 34s ahead of Middlebury’s Benjamin Lustgarten in second while David Sinclair (Dartmouth) in third.

On Day 2 UVM’s Linda Danvind-Malm claimed the victory in the women’s 10km FR over Hart in second with Gruber in 3rd. The 15km FR men’s race was won again by UVM with Scott Patterson doing the honours over Dartmouth’s Patrick Caldwell with Lustgarten landing 3rd on the podium again.
