October 16, 2008 (Canmore, AB) – The Events Committee of Cross Country Canada is seeking the part time services of an Officials’ Registry Online Services Coordinator. This is a part-time contract position for six months that has the potential to continue into the next fiscal year. This position will report to the CCC Events Committee Chairperson. The estimated work load is set at 300-400 hours over the 6-month period. The pay level is $20.00/hour

Desired Job Skills and work environment:

* Ability to work flexible hours and meet timelines
* Excellent written communication skills (French language capacity is also highly desirable)
* Fully versed in Microsoft Office Suite products and some video editing experience is desirable
* Excellent working knowledge of website management and information management that includes FTP site support. Experience with online education environments is highly desirable.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a support role with volunteers
* Provision of own work space, with high speed internet access (not
supplied by CCC)

Job Responsibilities:
1) Provide administrative support to the Event Committee’s use of the online environment that provides a centralized registry for CCC’s certified Officials and hosts the delivery of online education and professional development.
2) Work with the Division representatives to ensure all officials
have the opportunity to be registered to the online system.
3) Support the development of communication opportunities/tools for all levels of officials and sub-groups as needed by the Events Committee.
4) Provide support for processes to recognise and value officials.
5) Promote the effective use the online education tools by providing coordinating support to course conductors and the content needs for their courses.
6) Collect and post CCC TD reports for CCC sanctioned events from the past three years and archive in a secure file sharing forum for TDs.
7) Incorporating subject matter experts, develop and launch online discussion forums and mechanism for sharing and promotion of best practices (as per the officials manual) for:

a) Officials – Specific topics of interest:
i. volunteer recognition, and database management,
ii. race secretary resources,
iii. track setting and grooming,
iv. stadium set-up and design,
v. risk management plans,
vi. bid resources, business plans, etc.

b) Facility Development and Homologation – Specific technical
topics such as:
i. course design,
ii. course maintenance and
iii. homologation protocol in Canada.

c) Technical Delegates Forum
i. FIS-CCC rule interpretation
ii. Case study review with video.

8) Working with appropriate sub-committee chair and CCC staff support the development and promotion of a Technical Delegate and Officials recognition program that could include clothing and certification ID card.
9) Support other initiatives as assigned.
