October 05, 2018 – Erzurum, Turkey’s 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games bid has apparently fallen short in areas of transport, telecommunications and airports, while the International Olympic Committee (IOC) gave a green light to Calgary, Stockholm and a joint Italian bid from Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo to proceed to the next stage reports Inside the Games. But Calgary, which hosted the Winter Olympics in 1988, has yet to decide whether it wants to host another Games. A plebiscite is scheduled for Nov. 13 asking Calgarians if they want the Games again reports CBC.ca
