May 11, 2015 – Zoe Roy is an amazing ambassador for Fast and Female in everything she does. Based on this photo, she needs only her purple zebra F&F Buff around her neck to keep her warm.
Like Fast and Female, she can be found all over North America. Like Fast and Female, she is inspiring and fun. Like Fast and Female, the value of sport in her life that is so much bigger than the competitive sport itself… encompassing friends from all walks of life and adventures all over the world. I had the pleasure of living with Zoe in Canmore and training with her on Team Ninja in 2013. This photo and Zoe’s story highlight the great opportunities beyond competition that a life in sport can offer.
She has been an ambassador for 4 years and can be found regularly at the annual Bend, Oregon Fast and Female event which is coming up in June.
From Zoe: I may not be racing anymore, but the opportunities that being involved in sport have created for me are pretty incredible. The ski community encompasses a pretty special group of people. Take advantage of and always be open to opportunities that come up!
This picture was taken in the Alaska Range, near the Moose’s Tooth and Denali. Holly Brooks, Rob Whitney, Katie Ronsse Libby, Justin Libby and I (we named ourselves team Glory Bowl after the excellent salad dressing of the same name) were dropped off on a glacier by Talkeetna Air Taxi to live out of an arctic oven tent for 6 epic days. It snowed 4ft right before we got there and then we had 6 days of sun, powder, great snow stability and a stellar crew. Talk about a dream trip – I’m still on a high from it! This pic was taken when we decided to do one last hot lap while waiting for our plane pickup on the last day!
