February 15, 2010 (Canmore, Alberta) – This Friday Fast and Female presented by Best Buy – Canada’s highly dynamic organization dedicated to empowering young female athletes through sports – will join FitSpirit to host their 3rd annual FitSpirit Snow Challenge at Hardwood Ski and Bike.

Led by Fast and Female ambassador, Amanda Holdsworth, and supported by eight experienced female cross-country skiers, the February 19th event will feature a full-day introduction to cross-country skiing to 100 high school-aged girls with a focus on the importance of leading an active lifestyle.

Fast and Female presented by Best Buy was founded in 2005 by Chandra Crawford, 2006 Olympic Gold Medalist in cross-country skiing.

FitSpirit is a non-profit organization operating in Quebec and Ontario whose mission is to encourage 13-17 year old girls to take part in physical activities and develop healthy lifestyles.

Fast and Female, which is based in Camore, Alberta, supports the FitSpirit Snow Challenge event by supplying event concept guidelines for the on-snow components as well as a free Buff for each participant. ]
