November 16, 2012 (Bruksvallarna, Sweden) – The season is officially underway in Europe with the FIS races in Bruksvallarna, Sweden beginning today and continuing through the weekend. Canada’s Chandra Crawford placed a respectable 8th in the women’s 5km CL won by Sweden’s Emma Wikén (Åsarna IK) who lead a Swedish sweep with Charlotte Kalla in second followed by Ida Ingemarsdotter in third. Fellow Canuck Perianne Jones was 14th while Alysson Marshall DNS’d.

In the men’s 10km CL Canada’s Alex Harvey was on form to claim a superb 4th as local Swedes Daniel Richardsson, Marcus Hellner and Lars Nelson also swept the podium 1-2-3. Kevin Sandau placed 34th
