December 26, 2013 – The eighth edition of the Viessmann FIS Tour de Ski performance by Craft Sportswear will be held from December 28, 2013 to January 5, 2014 with the kick off race in Oberhof, Germany as usual.

Basic Facts
– Seven stages are included within nine days
– The host venues are • Oberhof, Germany – 28.12/29.12 • Lenzerheide, Switzerland – 31.12/01.01
• Toblach/Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy 03.01. •  Val di Fiemme, Italy – 04.01./05.01.

Prize Money
– Grand total prize money 560,000 CHF will be paid out during nine days for both genders
– The overall winner will take home 90,000 CHF
– The winner of each stage gets 3,000 CHF
– The current leader of the Tour (except the last stage) wins 1,000 CHF
– The winner of the sprint ranking will be awarded with 6,000 CHF.

World Cup Points
– The Tour winner gets 400 World Cup points for the overall victory
– In addition half of the regular World Cup points will be awarded stage by stage which means that a maximum of 750 points can be accrued by winning all seven stages and the overall Tour ranking.

Bonus Seconds
– Bonus seconds will be awarded in all Tour stages except the Final Climb
– The lady that wins all the bonus seconds can improve her total time by 135 bonus seconds whilst the best man can collect 150 bonus seconds.
– Important: bonus seconds for sprint competitions have been reduced to 30’’ for the winner.

Note: Bonus seconds are subtracted from the competitor’s actual race time before being added into the overall time score.

Travelling
– The eighth edition of the Tour de Ski will take us from Oberhof to Lenzerheide, Cortina d’Ampezzo and Toblach and to Val di Fiemme, which amounts to 1724 km km between the starting and finishing points at the International Airport in Munich.

Skiing Distance and Equipment
– Ladies will ski 42 km (if an athlete makes it to the sprint finals), while the men will cover approx. 69 km. The athletes will have on average 15 pairs of skating skis and 20 pairs of classic skis with them.

Club 3
– Justyna Kowalczyk, Riitta-Liisa Roponen and Valentina Shevchenko are the three ladies to finish all seven editions of the FIS Tour de Ski.
– Petter Northug jr., Jens Filbrich and Giorgio Di Centa are the only three men to finish all seven editions of the FIS Tour de Ski.
