March 07, 2010 (Mora, SWE) – Jorgen Brink still had strength left at the end of the 90km classic Vasaloppet to win a photo finish sprint over triple Vasaloppet winner Daniel Tynell. They were both given the time of 4:02:59.
It was Brink’s first Vasaloppet.

Towards the end of the race, a lead group formed with Daniel Tynell, Jorgen Aukland, Jorgen Brink and Stanislav Rezac.
Earlier Rezac had tried to open up a margin with Thomas Alsgaard, Joakim Engström, Lars Suther and Rikard Andreasson.

In the last kilometers the four leaders were pushing hard with Tynell and Rezac the most active. Tynell took the lead in the park towards the center of Mora. In the end
Brink and Tynell sprinted for victory with Brink taking the win. Third went to Rezac and Jorgen Aukland fourth, Fredrik Östberg was fifth, at 38 seconds. Italian Marco Cattaneo finished on 6th place at 51 seconds. One of the big favourites for victory Sweden’s Oskar Svärd was 7th.

Victory in women’s Vasaloppet was captured by Sandra Nystöm, who had a comfortable 32-second margin over Norway’s Sandra Hansson. Sweden’s Sofia Blekar was third. And skiing for Sweden, but living and training with the XCOregon team in Bend, OR, Kristina Strandberg finished 6^th at 17:33 behind the winner.
