Davos [P] FIS

December 13, 2013 (Davos, Switzerland) – Last winter, the famous Swiss winter resort of Davos hosted the FIS Cross-Country World Cup just before the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in February. This year, Davos is back in the World Cup calendar in the traditional December term and organizers report preparations are going according plan and weather conditions are perfect.

“The Local Organizing Committee of Davos Nordic is looking forward to welcome the elite Cross-Country skiers. Davos has excellent snow conditions. Everything is ready for a successful 41st edition of the World Cup in the valley of Landwasser with the original distance over 7.5km and the attractive Sprint distance,” Organizing Committee Chief, Adriano Iseppi said to FIS Cross-Country News.

Preparation well underway, competition course almost ready

The preparations are on track. The athletes lounge and waxing containers were already built and set up in the Stilli area and the Swiss military has been working on the stadium, grandstands and VIP tent since last week.

The competition course is almost finished. Only some minor work remains until the famous 7.5km course is ready for the Cross-Country Skiing spectacle. The weather forecast seems very good and the LOC hopes a lot of spectators find their way to Bünda Stadium as last year.

Björn Dæhlie Kids Event again in Davos

The Björn Daehlie Kids Event is a traditional part of the Davos World Cup. This year, 350 kids have already registered and organizers expect 450 kids by the end of the week.
