August 18, 2008 (Anchorage, AK) – By winning last weekends Penguin Mountain run, Trond Flagstaff – University of Anchorage Alaska (UAA) Nordic Ski team coach – won the overall Alaska Mountain Running series. Holly Brooks a ski coach with Alaska Pacific University (APU) took the women’s overall title with her second place finish in the Penguin race.

Flagstaff, who won early in the summer won the famed Mount Marathon race in the third fastest recorded time won the series with 400 points ahead of Barney Griffith (380) and Sam Hill (315). On the women’s side Brooks took the series with 400 points followed by Gail Taylor in second with 325 followed by Colleen Durnford with 290.
