January 19, 2014 (Antholz, Italy) – Fog enveloped the Antholz Stadium during the second leg of the women’s relay this morning, forcing officials to cancel the event. The fog was so thick that everything beyond 25 meters was completely white. The first leg had been completed under partly cloudy but otherwise fog-free conditions. The second leg runners shot prone with no problem. However, as they were skiing the 2K loop, the fog suddenly came up the valley. By the time the women reached the Huberalm with 400 meters to the shooting range, the shooting range was obstructed. The women slowly entered the range, took their positions and waited; the jury met and cancelled the competition.
