October 14, 2008 (Lake Placid, NY) – Columbus Day weekend is one of the biggest for tourists visiting the New York’s Adirondack mountains. While many people were hiking in the mountains and enjoying the fall foliage, over 40 skiers attended the Salomon Get Your Nordic On! clinic, hosted by High Peaks Cyclery.

US Ski Team/CXC Elite skier Garrott Kuzzy ran the clinic, demonstrating a series of dryland drills on foot and skate rollerskis. Participants also earned the first piece of USSA Level 1 coaches certification under the supervision of National Team coaches Matt Whitcomb, Chris Grover, and Justin Wadsworth. The skiers had a wide variety of abilities, but everyone was able to take valuable skills away from the clinic to improve their own skills and those of the skiers they coach. The Green Mountain Valley School and Clarkson College both had large groups of skiers at the clinic, as well as a number of Lake Placid locals.
