Great Nordic Weekend in Park City – Feb. 15-16

Round Valley RU-LogoJanuary 14, 2014 (Park City, Utah) – Check out the great weekend of Nordic skiing coming to Park City this Feb. 15-16 with the Round Valley Round Up, Silver Ski Tour and new UOP “King of the Mountain” challenge.

– Sat Feb. 15th 10:00am: Round Valley Round Up (5, 20, 40k). You will ski right by USSA Center Of Excellence

– Sun Feb. 16th 10:00am: Silver Ski Tour (from White Pine Touring Center to Newpark, 10k or 5 k starting at willow creek): noncompetitive, fun event for the entire family, with great community involvement

– Sun Feb 16th 1:00pm: NEW UOP “King of the Mountain”. Unique in the world. Start at the Top of HS134, race down, all the way to the visitor center (stadium of Nordic Olympic trials), intermediate timing and then the fun begin with skiing back up. Finish at the top of HS134. Prize money for best time down (must finish the race to be eligible) and the best time to the finish.

Expecting time: 10min down, 20 min up for good skiers. Advanced skiers. Stay tuned for more details.

– 9km total: 5.8k relatively flat and 3.7k up for elevation gain of 425m

UOP “King of the Mountain”:
– Start and finish elevation: 2,234m-7,328ft  (lower point: 1,955m-6,417ft)
– Approx. 10k total: 5k down, 5k up for elevation gain 279m
