January 13, 2008 (Val di Fiemme, Italy) – Sebastien Haseney of Germany overtook Jason Lamy Chappuis of France and beat him by three-tenths of a second Sunday in a nordic combined World Cup sprint.

It was the second podium of the weekend for Haseney, who was third Saturday, two-tenths behind American Billy Demong in an individual competition. Demong had the fastest time in Saturday’s 15km race and again on Sunday in the sprint, moving up to finish seventh, 10.8 seconds back of Haseney.

After a disappointing jump left him in 29th place, Johnny Spillane was fifth fastest in the 7.5km race and moved up to 11th place. Max Thompson of Canada was last, finishing 38th.

After a steady rain Saturday, the sprint was staged in overcast but stable weather. Temperatures were in the mid-30s (+2.3 C.). Jumping takes place in Predazzo with the cross-country race in nearby Lago di Tesero.
