January 2, 2009 (Canmore, AB) – Friday’s races, day one of Haywood NorAm #3, were postponed due to cold temperatures hovering around -20C (-4F) with a cold wind out of the east, and have been re-scheduled to take place on Monday, Jan. 5. The four other races taking place this weekend in Canmore from January 3-6 are trials races for the upcoming selections to Canada’s Nordic World Junior, U-23, Senior and World Cup teams. Today was to be the Pursuit event ranging from 10km up to 30km contested by the open men. Next up is Saturday’s 1.3km free technique sprints which will be used to select Canada’s 2009 Nordic World Champion sprint team.
