Imagine… la Sgambeda

October 25, 2004 – Imagine… there’s a heaven for cross-country ski lovers.
It’s called la Sgambeda and opens the cross-country marathon season on 12th
December 2004 in Livigno.

Imagine… it’s so hard to resist to La Sgambeda, even for the starting time
(10,30 am). The best way to avoid an early morning and sleep a bit more…

Imagine… many competitors have been training for the whole summer for this
first FIS Marathon Cup competition, like the Italian Team, trained by Marco
Selle. They will have to face so many other athletes from countries like
Norway, Estonia, Russia and many more.

Imagine… you have always wanted to run in a World Cup competition, and you
can fulfil your dreams in Livigno.
Imagine… all you have to pay is 35 Euro if you register before 23rd
October. Still four days, and then prices will rise.

Imagine… you have never thought to be able to ski for 42 kilometres… and
you can participate anyway, and cross two special finish line after 16 and
26 kilometres, each one with a separate ranking list.

Imagine… you will have the chance to take part in the “Open Air”
conference. This year Giustino Del Vecchio, cross-country historian, ski wax
researcher and Meto Progress Director, will talk about “Ski wax for gliding.
Friction is just a matter of electrons. The snow parameters.”

Imagine… you can even participate in Livigno Snowsport Opening, from 28th
November to 19th December. Three weeks of active holiday dedicated to
cross-country skiing, with lessons organized by Daniel Sandoz, twice winner
