Kris Freeman Interview

How cold was it out there today…?
Kris Freeman: It was around 15 degrees farenheit which is a nice racing temperature.

How were you feeling at the start of your signature race…?
KF: I woke up feeling good this morning.

Talk about the course and your skis…?
KF: The course in Lahti has about as much climbing as is possible to put into 15ks. The hills vary in grade but are steep in general.  I went with a low cambered ski that is easy to climb on. It gave up a little on descents but I believe the ease of kick was worth it.

Does this course remind you of any others – how does it rate for a 15km…?
KF: The course reminds me of Val di Fiemme. Thankfully it treated me kinder though.

How were you feeling at the finish… do you feel you could have moved up even higher?
KF: I have not been finishing races well this year so I race conservatively. I probably could have dropped the hammer 500 meters earlier and picked up another place or two but that is hindsight.

What were you hoping for today… ?
KF: I was hoping to pace the race well and have a great result. I had a good result.

All the best with the rest of the season.
KF: Thanks
