March 11, 2011 (Sovereign Lake, BC) – After the Sparkling Hill Masters World Cup Jury investigated the allegations that Italy’s Biagio Di Santo should not be racing they discovered that FIS had made a mistake and the wrong information had been conveyed. After disqualifying him this morning believing he had breached an anti-doping ban (read more here), Di Santo’s results stand and he has been cleared.
“The bottom line is, there is no disqualification. His results still stand, ” said Bruce Cummings, Chairperson of the Sparkling Hill Masters World Cup.
Di Santo will keep hisĀ podium results from day two and three at the Masters World Cup. SkiTrax reported Di Santo with the fastest time in the men’s 10km classic in the M01 (30-34) category on March 8, Day 3 of the event. Di Santo’s relay team placed second in the M01 category.
