April 23, 2008 – SkiTrax has learned that top skier Ivan Babikov, who is joining the Canadian National XC Ski Team for the 2008/09 season, recently broke a rib while snowboarding. Babikov thought he’d only bruised his side on a fall but woke up during the night and found himself in severe pain. His broken rib was discovered during a hospital examination. He’ll be out of commission for at least two weeks which coincides with Babikov’s vacation time as he is now in Mexico on holidays.
