December 04, 2014 (Stillwater, MN) – Team USA Nordic skier Jessie Diggins recently held a fundraiser dinner at the Chilkoot Café in Stillwater, MN before she jetted off to Europe for the start of the new competitive season. The $100-per-plate dinner raised over $10,000 for Diggins to use towards her travel and racing expenses, but the giving didn’t end there.

According to the Stillwater Gazette, American Birkebeiner race director Ben Popp made an additional donation from the Birkie Foundation and Finn Sisu’s Ahvo Taipale also made an impromptu matching offer to provide even more funds.

Diggins herself held a silent auction, selling off Team USA clothing items she wore at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games, with proceeds going to help developing young racers through the National Nordic Foundation. Read the Stillwater Gazette article about the evening here.
