Job Description:
The Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada is seeking a dynamic, experienced leader and administrator. Reporting to the Board of Directors through the Chair, the Executive Director will be responsible for the overall operation of the Centre, including the case management of the Tribunal and Dispute Secretariat, the organization of arbitrators’ and mediators’ orientation and training, the delivery of educational and communications programs, relations with the Canadian sport community, supervision of two staff, financial management and the fulfillment of the compliance requirements of the Physical Activity and Sport Act.

The SDRCC was established on April 1, 2004 by the Physical Activity and Sport Act of 2003 to ensure the fair, equitable, transparent and timely resolution of disputes in Canadian sport. Effective June 1, 2004, the SDRCC became responsible for the adjudication of domestic doping cases in Canada.

The successful candidate will demonstrate success in working with a non-for-profit organization with a volunteer board, effective communications skills, proven administrative achievement, and be bilingual in French and English. Knowledge of the Canadian sports system, legal training and knowledge of ADR would be assets but are not required.

Salary will be in the range of $65,000 to $90,000 commensurate with education and experience.
