November 22, 2013 (Beitostølen, Norway) – Therese Johaug (NOR) blew away the women’s field in the 10 km C in Beitostølen, winning by 54.1 seconds over Norwegian teammates Astrid Jacobsen (NOR) and Heidi Weng (NOR) + 1:07.4 in third. Sadie Bjornsen (USA) was the top North American in fifth place, followed by Kikkan Randall (USA) in 10th, Jessie Diggins (USA) 13th, and Holly Brooks in 19th. Elizabeth Stephen (USA) finished 25th, Sophie Caldwell (USA) 27th, and Ida Sargent (USA) was 29th. No Canadians competed.

Martin Johnsrud Sundby (NOR) won a close race in the men’s 15 km CL competition by just 1.3 seconds over Eldar Rønning (NOR) and 6.5 seconds over Chris Jespersen (NOR) who took third. Petter Northug Jr. (NOR) finished in 61st position +2:27.4.

USA’s Noah Hoffman (USA) was the top North American in 41st, followed by Andy Newell (USA) in 57th, Torin Koos (USA) in 68th, Michael Sinnott (USA) in 116th, Simeon Hamilton (USA) in 119th, and Jesse Smith (USA) in 140th.

Tomorrow’s competitions will be 10/15 km in the free technique.
