October 13, 2009 – Ben Koons, a 2009 Dartmouth College graduate, is trying to qualify to race at the 2010 Olympic Games for New Zealand. Koons, who was born in NZ, spent the summer riding his bike across Tibet with his brother Nils. He competed in a number of qualifying races later in the summer and nearly reached the “A” qualifying standard, and intends to continue his quest through the fall and winter.
