February 21, 2014 (Prince George, BC) – With the official opening of Kin 1 over the weekend, the 2015 Canada Winter Games is proud to announce Lakewood Dental Group as an Official Sponsor of the 2015 Canada Games, giving them naming rights to the official venue for the duration of the 2015 Canada Winter Games.

“The opportunity to sponsor an official venue for the 2015 Canada Winter Games offers great exposure for our partners,” says 2015 Canada Winter Games CEO, Stuart Ballantyne. “With athletes, coaches, volunteers, fans and media utilizing the venues at Games time, sponsoring an official venue makes them part of the 2015 Games experience.”

The Lakewood Dental Group, which is made up of Lakewood Dental’s seven dentists: Dr. Anderson, Dr. Dahlstrom, Dr. Hong, Dr. Kit Wong, Dr. Pastro, Dr. Schwab and Dr. Von den Steinen and four specialists: Dr. Ozcan, Dr. Tillmanns, Dr. Lo and Dr. Elliot, is the first 2015 Canada Winter Games sponsor of an Official Venue for the 2015 Games.

Kin 1 will be known as Lakewood Dental Arena at CN Centre for the eighteen days of the 2015 Games.

“Lakewood Dental and its collective of dentists and specialists have been serving the City of Prince George and surrounding communities for decades,” says partner Tessa von den Steinen. “We are extremely excited and very proud to be an Official Sponsor of the 2015 Canada Winter Games. We truly believe this will be an unparalleled event for the City of Prince George and an amazing opportunity for us to be involved with the 2015 Games at the local level while showcasing our city on the national stage. We are looking forward to helping make this the best Canada Games ever.”

One of the managing partners for Lakewood Dental Group, Kit Wong, has a very special tie to the Canada Games. Kit’s son Chris won a silver medal at the 1999 Canada Winter Games in Corner Brook, Newfoundland.

Chris then went on to represent Canada in freestyle skiing at the Olympics in Turin Italy in 2006.
