February 25, 2007 (Sapporo, Japan) – Fresh off of his victory in the sprint, Manninen won his second world title in two days after Finland took a 12 second advantage over Norway in the jumping portion of the event then eased to victory in the cross-country.
Janne Ryynaenen topped all jumps with a 138.5m effort to lead the Olympic bronze medallists in the opening round as no Finn jumped shorter than 130m.
Finland ultimately won in a time of 49 minutes and 14.9 seconds.
A double-world champion from 2005, Ronny Ackerman led the Germans into the silver medal position after the team easily made up an 11-second first round deficit on the Norwegians.
Germany ultimately finished 28.4 seconds behind Finland, but a full 43.6
seconds in front of Norway, who beat Austria in a sprint to the line by 0.4 seconds to secure the bronze medal.
