In normal years we have been able to raise most of our funding for the team close to home. However, this year is different, our valley experienced huge personal and economic loss from the largest wild fire in Washington State history. Our economy in the Methow Valley is dominated by tourism and the months of July and August are when visitors to the area peak. This year, instead of tourists, we had thousands of fire fighters and smoke. Because of this we hope to give our good friends in the local business community a break. We are looking outside the valley this year to raise funds for our highly successful youth ski program.

You can bid on great items, experiences, and trips in support of the team HERE.

Please be generous in your bidding, and thank you so very much for joining us in supporting the Methow Valley Nordic Team.

The mission of the Methow Valley Nordic Team is clear, it states: “We share a love for Nordic skiing with Methow Valley youth.” We are a Nordic Ski Team which focuses on youth, ages 6-18 years old. We teach our youth how to ski, how to build friendships, how to work together as a team, and how to be a good citizen and community member. And we have fun while doing this!

The Methow Valley is in north central Washington State on the eastern slope of the Cascade mountains. It is a Nordic skiing paradise, with over 200 kilometers of regularly groomed trails. Unlike most Nordic areas, it is not concentrated into a confined area or an adjunct to an Alpine resort. The trails are laid out in such a way that they connect the communities of our valley together. The summers are just as grand with miles of single track, swimming, fishing, hiking, rock climbing and the list goes on and on.
