Methow Valley Winter Festival Nordic Ski Camp Feb. 21-22 w/Former Olympians

January 20, 2011 – In conjunction with the Methow Valley Winter Festival, former Olympic cross-country skiers, Leslie Hall and Laura McCabe are hosting a two-day Nordic ski camp, February 21st and 22nd, offering skiers an incredible opportunity to learn both skate and classic ski technique from two of the most acclaimed cross-country skiers in the nation. The Winter Festival Ski Camp is the perfect opportunity to improve your ski technique and enhance your fitness level.

Coaches Hall and McCabe will provide two days of expert instruction, including video footage and review. Both skiing disciplines of skate and classic will be covered and skiers should be at the advanced intermediate level or higher to participate in this camp. Tips on ski training and race preparation will also be shared.

Leslie Thompson Hall is a three-time Olympian and fifteen-year member of the US Ski Team. She currently lives in the Methow Valley and is an Assistant Coach of the Junior Nordic Ski Team. Laura McCabe is a two time Olympian, has skied for the Fischer/Salomon Factory Team and is the former head coach of the Methow Valley Junior Ski Team.

Registration fees are $180 for the 2-day Nordic Camp, and include two days of  MVSTA trail passes and lunch on both days of the camp.  Registration information can be found HERE.

The Methow Valley Winter Festival is presented in part by the Methow Valley Sport Trails Association and the Methow Valley Community.  This ten-day festival celebrates the Valley’s favorite winter activities and vibrant arts and cultural community.  During the Festival there are events and activities for every age and skill level. The Methow Valley Sport Trails Association (MVSTA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing and promoting environmentally sound recreation on or near the trail system in the Methow Valley. The trail system includes over 200 kilometers of groomed trails and is recognized as one of the finest trail systems in North America for cross-country skiing, mountain biking and hiking.
