Microclair Sports Announces Exclusive Partnership with Canadian National Cross Country Ski Team

release by CCC

November 09, 2014 – Microclair Sports is a brand of Microclair International Inc., a privately-owned Canadian manufacturer. The company has earned its international renown in the optical market for designing and manufacturing luxury lens care products since 1986.

Distributed by Diamond Head Sports Inc. in Whisler, B.C., Microclair Sports, focuses on developing and manufacturing high-performance lens treatment and cleaner solutions for diverse sports eyewear that will enhance athletic performance and protection through a sharp clear vision. With this purpose in mind, Microclair Sports is proud to announce today that it has signed an agreement to become the exclusive supplier of lens care treatments for the Canadian National Cross Country Ski Team.

As part of the deal, Microclair Sports will provide its Active line Technical Products to all the team members which will help improve their visual acuity, and comfort, while looking great and having a safe season.

Cross-country skiers know how to work up a sweat in the mountains, and it is important for them to see clearly the trail, therefore it is not fun when their vision gets impaired. “As a Canadian company, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with our country’s best cross-country skiers,” comments Nada Fakhouri. “After some really positive feedback on our solutions from the athletes, the partnership came naturally. Our Active anti-fog is truly amazing; it is functional, safe and long lasting. It prevents sports eyewear from fogging during the whole day even in the toughest environments where cold, and exertion but also heat and humidity usually cause fogged eyewear. As for our hydrophobic treatment, it will shed water and sticky snowakes off, so the drops will not distort the vision of the athletes. We are happy to bring our Canadian cross country skiers an edge that will help increase their level of performance when they need it most.”

“Cross-country skiers spend countless hours training and competing outdoors, with weather conditions sometimes changing by the minute, from very cold to mild temperatures, and freezing rain to snow storms. Minimizing the impact of the changing weather conditions is critical for ensuring athletes remain focused on their performance,” said Tom Holland, high-performance director, Cross Country Canada.

Microclair Sports products will be available online through the Cross Country Canada Store in November, just in time for the exciting season ahead.
