February 6, 2010 (Stowe, Vermont) – Three Dartmouth women and two Middlebury men were in the top five respectively at Saturday’s UVM Carnival, which was held in conjunction with the TD Bank Eastern Cup Series at Trapp Family Lodge’s Nordic Touring Center. Ida Sargent, from Dartmouth College,led the women’s 5km classic event while Franz Bernstein, from UVM, led the men’s 10km classic race.

The Center has been blessed with good snow despite a challenging winter in parts of New England and the snow cover has been enhanced with their expansive snowmaking system. A total of 455 were pre-registered athletes per day.
