Nensa Athletes to Join Lake Placid Training Camp

release by Nensa.net

September 17, 2008 – From October 1- 6, NENSA athletes will have an opportunity to train with some of the best skiers in the country at the 3rd annual Lake Placid USST Training Camp. The Country’s best Nordic Skiers will be descending on Lake Placid beginning September 22 and training here until October 14th. The NENSA group will arrive on Oct 1 and stay through the 6th. Elite teams from CXC, Sun Valley, GMVS, Burke Academy and several New England colleges will be participating as well. The week will offer several opportunities in addition to the training camp.

On October 3rd, Susie Parker Simmons will give a presentation open to all female athletes participating in this XC camp about the Female Athlete Triad. This is sure to be very informative and all female athletes in the xc group are highly encouraged to attend.

On the afternoon of October 5th (Sunday) NENSA is excited to present a Coaches Mini-Workshop at the Olympic Training Center. The mini workshop will consist of discussions about:
– The USST Athlete Pipeline (USST coaches to present)
– Training planning (CXC’s Bryan Fish will present)
– Strength Training (USST Staff)

Each presentation will be approximately 45 minutes long. This is a great chance to get together with some of the top coaches in the Country for an informal afternoon of informative discussion. There is no charge for this workshop though participants are welcomed to make a donation to the US Ski Team. We hope you can join us- exact details (time, meeting room, etc to be announced).

Please contact Janice at Janice@nensa.net for more info or to sign up or register online. On Oct 6th, the second annual Whiteface Climb to the Castle will take place.
