NENSA Eastern Regional Elite Group Heads to Lake Placid

release by NENSA

June 26, 2014 – The Eastern Regional Elite Group Invitational Camp (REG) is NENSA’s premier summer camp and will feature USST staff as well as New England’s top coaches. Next week some of the fastest juniors in the east will descend upon the Adirondacks and live the life of a professional athlete for six days.

Skiers from both New England and Mid Atlantic divisions will take part. This camp will also serve as USSA Junior Talent ID camp.  Participants will build on the foundation they have by integrating a mix of distance and interval training and strength building (including a round of Canadian strength testing). Athletes will train using several modes including roller skiing, trail running, ski walking /bounding, and functional strength. There will be other adventures as well!

Joining the REG campers will be 12 U16 NENSA Development team /Mid Atlantic athletes. They will train alongside the older REG athletes for many of the workouts and be on hand for evening presentations.
