New Biathlon CanadaTechnical Director

June 17, 2003 – Biathlon Canada is pleased to announce that Roger Archambault has accepted the challenge to lead Biathlon Canada's technical programs as the new Technical Director.

Archambault, a certified Level 5 coach (one of three in Canada) and the leading technical expert in Canadian Biathlon, is coming back to the sport full time after a brief exodus while working for the Canadian Rangers Organization and Junior Canadian Rangers (JCR) Programme.

Archambault is no stranger to Biathlon Canada and the biathlon community. Over the past eight years, Roger has fulfilled leadership positions with various national teams as Team Leader, Coach and even Head Wax Technician. As well, he has been the Chair of Coaching Development Committee since 1998. From 1996 – 2000, Roger was the National Director – Canadian Forces Biathlon Program. During that time, he was a member (coach) of Canada's Olympic biathlon team in Nagano, Japan. As a successful coach, Archambault was recognized nationally as Biathlon Canada's Coach of the Year in 1993 and 1997.

Roger, is married with three children living in Aylmer, Quebec and is also an avid sportsman (golf is a favourite) and marathoner. Roger will officially start his position July 14, 2003.
