New Book – Fascination “Ski Jumping”

October 31, 2007 – Tomorrow, November 1, a new book titled “Ski Jumping” will hit bookstore shelves. Dirk Thiele and Michael Uhrmann (GER, Fischer) look behind the curtain of the ski jumping circus for an inside view of the sport.

The author Dirk Thiele:

He is “the voice of ski jumping” in Switzerland, Austria and Germany. He is very popular with the viewers and athletes due to his frank and distinctive commentaries. Besides ski jumping, he comments on athletics, handball and cross-country skiing for EUROSPORT, Europe’s biggest sports channel. In 2002 he was nominated for the German Television Award and 2005 for the prestigious Grimme Prize. In 2003 he received the “FIS Award” for his journalistic achievements in Nordic Sports.

The expert Michael Uhrmann:

He once soared up to 226.5 meters and he knows ski jumping from A to Z. Michael Uhrmann is a three time Junior World Champion and has been one of the best ski jumpers in the World Cup for many years. In 2001 he won the World Champion title and had his biggest success when he became the 2002 Olympic Champion with the German Team in Salt Lake City, Utah.
