release by Silver Star

October 03, 2012 (Silver Star, BC) – Silver Star Mountain Resort and neighboring Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre, have re-instated a Dual Area Cross Country Trail Pass for the 2012/13 season.

Nordic skiers of all abilities can now access a combined 105 kilometers of groomed and track set trail on one pass.  “Both trail systems & facilities on their own offer outstanding Nordic skiing experiences. Together, we can truly offer a world class experience right here,” says Silver Star Nordic Manager Guy Paulsen. “This is a positive step forward for everyone,” Paulsen added.

For the first time the two resorts will co-host early season cross-country camps. These welcomed changes place the combined “Super Trail System” on Silver Star Mountain as the largest groomed cross country trail system in Western Canada and second largest in the country.

Cross-country skiers are applauding recent changes on Silver Star which will provide access to all trails through the introduction of one ticket at one low price. “The fact the I can ski everything hassle free is great,” says former National Cross Country Olympic Team Coach Mike Bell.

“Local skiers, visiting guests, teams and associations have all been waiting for this to happen for years,”  says Sovereign Lake General Manager Scott Lemon. “The heightened level of cooperation between Silver Star Mountain Resort and Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre will benefit skiers as well as the sport in general,” added Paulsen.
