April 26, 2009 – We’ve just learned that Canada’s recent ex-National Team Coach Arild Monsen from Molde, Norway is now the sprint coach for Sweden. Initial reports indicated that Gunde Svan, the Swedish head coach, was not renewing his contract and early speculation was that legendary Norwegian coach Inge BrÃ¥ten would take over but Scandinavian news reports claimed BrÃ¥ten was heading to Canada. On April 3 BrÃ¥ten was officially named Cross Country Canada’s Senior National Team Coach replacing Monsen who is now with the Swedish team.
