POSITION: Nordic Program Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Nordic Department #7
STATUS: Full time, Seasonal
REPORTS TO:Risk Management & Safety Programs Director

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:


· OFA Level 3, OEC First Aid (80 hour course);
· First Aid experience an asset;
· Strong Nordic skier and able to ski all Nordic terrain;
· Proven grooming experience in cross country setting;
· Proficient operation and maintenance of snowmobile;
· Supervisory and organizational skills;
· Strong work ethic, self motivated;
· High level physical fitness, able to carry gear required to fulfill duties;
· Knowledge of Sun Peaks Nordic terrain;
· Srong interpersonal skills;
· Able to give direction and provide training;
· Knowledge of Nordic risk management;
· Work well with other departments;
· Able to take direction from Manager.




PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:



· Perform all duties required to maintain operation of Nordic department;
· Patrol and provide first aid to guests using Nordic system, and all associated paperwork;
· Able to perform grooming duties when required;
· Risk management of Nordic system to include signage, hazard markings, grooming requests, Guest concerns and complaints;
· Communicate to Manager all problems relating to Nordic Trail Program;
· Coordinate Nordic volunteers and schedule;
· Work cooperatively with all departments;
· Document , organize, and report all work for Nordic program;
· Provide all training to operate a safe Nordic program;
· Bring forth and implement ideas for up-grading overall Nordic program.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:



· Attend all ski patrol training;
· Advanced Protocol Training
· Public relations;
· Adhere to all Sun Peaks Resort Corporation policies;
· Be dependable, timely, and cooperative;
· Maintain all company equipment and uniform in good repair;
· Operate according to code of conduct and values statement of Sun Peaks Resort Corporation
· Attend all SPRC sponsored scheduled orientation & training programs
