Nordic Warm Up at Great Glen Trails

release by Great Glen Trails

November 30, 2009 (Pinkham Notch, NH) – For three weeks in December, Great Glen Trails will host the Nordic Warm Up—a fitness program designed to get cross country skiers ready for the season. The Nordic Warm Up will be held on Tuesdays, December 8, 15 and 22 at 10:00am.

Olympian and Great Glen Trails Ski School Director, Sue Wemyss, has designed the Nordic Warm Up to help cross country skiers hit the snow gliding! Starting out the season under the watchful eye of an experienced coach can help prevent bad habits and immediately improve the technical aspects of skiing. Plus, participants work on ski specific fitness, so skiers can be comfortable on their skis.

The Nordic Warm Up will be held on snow, if conditions permit. The first week of instruction will focus on classic techniques; the second week on skating techniques; and the final week on skiing through changes in terrain and direction.

Cost:
Nordic Warm Up, 3 Weeks: $50, includes trail pass
Single session: $20, includes trail pass

The Nordic Warm Up is open to men and women, ages 16 and older. Participants should have prior cross country skiing experience and be interested in personal ski technique improvement, taught in a group setting. Class size is limited to 10.
