September 8, 2008 (Canmore, AB) – The 2008 North American Summer Biathlon Championships concluded yesterday in Canmore, Alberta. The 3-day event finished up with a Pursuit Rollerski and Run competition. The men completed a 12.5km course while the women raced 10km. Both winners from the previous day’s competition claimed first again on Sunday as Jean-Philippe Le Guellec of Courcelette, and Megan Imrie from Manitoba won their respective races.

Le Guellec took top spot with a time of 36:40, followed by France’s Ferreol Cannard, and Patrick Cote of Biathlon New Brunswick, as was the case in the 10km Sprint a day earlier. In the women’s race Zina Kocher (RMR) took second behind Imrie’s winning time of 38:05, and in third was Megan Tandy of British Columbia.
