November 17, 2015 (Hamilton, MA) – The North Shore Nordic Association’s mission was born from the idea that winter play is important to the health of New England communities. The North Shore Nordic Association is a 501C3 tax exempt, non-profit charitable organization formed by local residents with the goal of acquiring and operating ski grooming equipment on local trails on the North Shore of Massachusetts.

This winter season, the NSNA is seeking the help of its community to acquire ski trail grooming equipment and to work with local land stewards to groom ski lanes on some of our nearby existing trails. The lanes will be open to the public and groomed for use by classical and skate skiers and snowshoers. Trails in Patton Park will benefit from existing lighting, extending trail use into evening hours during the time of year when daylight is limited.

The NSNA needs to raise $25,000 for capital costs and $5,000 for operating costs. Details regarding the specific grooming equipment needed are available on the organization’s website at www.nsnordic.org.

The NSNA will benefit the citizens of Hamilton, Wenham, Ipswich, Topsfield, Essex and other surrounding communities by leveraging the existing trail and open space assets to provide winter recreational and athletic activities. Eventually the NSNA is hoping to work with local recreation departments to provide training and winter sport opportunities for local youth.

Please consider donating to this exciting community-focused project and help the NSNA to spread the word to the greater community.
