Norway’s Bjoergen Won’t Race Olympic Sprint?

by skitrax.com
December 17, 2009 – After reviewing and selecting her ideal race schedule and best chances to medal at Vancouver 2010, it looks like top Norwegian Marit Bjoergen has decided not to participate in the Olympic sprint. According to a quote in the newspaper, Adresseavisen, Norwegian national coach Egil Kristiansen said: “Yes, she will not make the sprint classic. She prefers to keep her chances for other races.”

This weekend’s FIS XC World Cup in Rogla, Slovenia, which features a classic sprint, will be the last chance to see how things might set up for the Olympic sprint next February at Whistler Olympic Park.
