Petter Northug Has Knee Operation in Trondheim

April 25, 2013 (Trondheim, Norway) – On Monday, April 23 Petter Northug Jr. underwent a planned surgery when a bone spur was removed from his left knee. It was a reminder of an injury he suffered when he was a child.

The operation had been originally scheduled for last Tuesday, but Northug put it off to Monday this week to be able to compete in Skarverennet. The operation was done at the Rosenborg clinic in Trondheim and lasted for 15-20 min. Northug Jr. is expected to come back to training after one week. It will take up to six weeks before he is 100% back.
