Pierre Mignerey to Replace Capol as FIS Nordic Race Director ?

by John Symon

February 07, 2012 – Frenchman Pierre Mignerey will take over as the International Ski Federation (FIS) Nordic Race Director for the 2012-13 season replacing Juerg Capol of Switzerland reports Skinordique.net. Capol has served as race director for all cross-country skiing events for the FIS since 2007 and has been promoted to manage Nordic skiing for FIS Marketing AG.

Mignery, who previously worked for the Fédération Française de Ski (FFS) as the head coach of the Nordic teams and then as director of development for the Nordic discipline,  has already worked as Capol’s assistant for two seasons.

Mignerey is apparently eager to get started and the report goes on to say that his success has been described by the French press as, “…the culmination of a career marked by a flawless commitment to Nordic disciplines in general and to cross-country skiing in particular.”
