Randall Report and Photos from Park City Camp

October 06, 2010 (Park City, UT) – Here are some photos from the Park City training camp – it has been a great first half! The weather has been fantastic – a little warmer than AK this time of year – and the training partners have been awesome.  We’ve already put in two solid interval sessions, two speed sessions, a sweet 3.5 hour OD, and a skate sprint time trial.

The time trial was super valuable.  We did a full simulation of a sprint with a qualifying round and then quarters, semi’s and finals. We were all on slightly different speed wheels which kept the group together and highly competitive! In the final Dasha took the top spot about a half a ski length ahead of Peri and I who tied for second. Sarah Daitch, Chandra and Katie Ronsse (APU) were right on our heels.

We spent the first week training a little lower than we have been living (which is almost 2,300m up here in Deer Valley).  Now we are progressively creeping up in elevation with our training and the final week we will be doing some distance up higher (around 2,700m).

I’ve also been taking advantage of being in the US Ski Team’s home base, frequenting the new Center of Excellence training facility.  It’s been great to have so many elite level resources at my disposal!!

Looking forward to the 2nd half!!

Cheers,
Kikkan 🙂
