Rossland’s 2010 Olympic Size Controversy

by skitrax.com
August 25, 2009 (Trail, BC) – According to a recent Canadian Press article on CTV online a rift has formed in the town of Rossland, BC over whether the city should fund Olympic athlete George Grey. “I don’t believe we were elected by the good citizens of Rossland to support one individual in the pursuit of his Olympic dream,” Mayor Greg Granstrom told city council. But Councillor Jill Spearn disagreed. “This town is full of sport and recreation,” she said. “He will represent who we are to the world.”
