October 20, 2008 (Canmore, AB) – Olympic silver medalist Sara Renner will not begin her cross-country World Cup season until December 6 in La Clusaz, France according to a report in the Calgary Herald. With husband Thomas Grandi ending his retirement from the Canadian Alpine team, he needs to compete at early season races to gain valuable points. As a result Renner’s season will begin in early December meaning in total she will miss six of the 14 World Cups on the Veissmann FIS Cross-country World Cup 2008/09 calendar.
