Saskatchewan Grant Programs Update

November 16, 2003 – CCS recently modified its existing programs to meet the changing needs of the members. Here is a listing of our existing grants:

Event Grant This grant is to assist clubs in hosting a community event for grassroots skiers. The events may include freestyle skiing development, distance skiing development and exciting events for families of all ages. The event may also serve as a recruiting tool for your club to introduce skiing to potential new club members. The event should also be advertised and promoted in a timely manner. Clubs will be required to submit a list of participants, an article and photo for the Nordic News.  There are four $500 grants available. The deadline for applications is Nov. 30, 2003.

Loppet Funding This grant is to assist clubs hosting a Loppet on the 2003-04 Calendar of Events.  Clubs are required to complete the application form following completion of the loppet.  Clubs must submit a list of participants and/or results if timed events are used.  An article and photo for the Nordic News must be submitted with the completed form. The grant allocations are as follows: Up to 75 participants                       $250 75 – 100 participants                       $300 100 – 125 participants                     $400 125 – 150 participants                      $500 150 + participants                            $750

Sask Cup Race Funding This grant is to assist clubs hosting a Sask Cup Race on the 2003-04 Calendar of Events.  Clubs are required to complete an application form following completion of the race.  Clubs must submit a list of racers and results.  An article and photo for the Nordic News must accompany this report. The grant allocations are as follows:

Zone Race with under 100 participants                              $250 Zone race with 100+ participants $400.00 Interzone Race with less than 100 participants                  $400 Interzone Race with 100+ participants                               $600 Provincial Championships $2000.00

Professional Services Access Grant This grant is to assist clubs in bringing in a professional clinician to run a specialized clinic for the club and its members.  Examples are bringing in a Level 3 coach to do a specialized clinic with the skiers or bringing in a tracksetting professional to work with the clubs tracksetters.  Maximum available per clinic is $300.  Clubs may apply for more than one clinic. The clinic must be pre-approved and the date set a minimum of one month prior to the event.
