December 9, 2005 – CBC continues to show leadership in the promotion of amateur sport and has adopted an extremely supportive approach to partnering with CCC for the domestic broadcast of December World Cup races.

From past experience, CBC is well aware that there is an extensive community of cross-country enthusiasts who constitute a ready-and-waiting audience for this programming. The network responds to viewer feedback. If we wish to see more TV coverage in the future, it is important that CBC receive that message directly.

-congratulate CBC for providing coverage of these World Cup races;
-recommend/request more extensive coverage – i.e. full and live coverage of each race, as is broadcast internationally;
-request coverage of pre-Olympic World Cup races from Europe, to generate interest in the Olympics; and
-request full race coverage of Olympic races.
