March 19, 2011 (Falun, Sweden) – In an effort to help, and send some encouragement and support to our fellow skiers in Japan following the huge devastation caused by the earthquake and tsunami, some xc athletes have decided to team up with an initiative started by a group of Alpine skiers called Skiershelpingjapan.com.

Today after the WCup race in Falun we’re asking athletes to write messages to Japan on a large poster in the finish area and we’re also encouraging athletes to pledge some of their prize money towards helping the ski family in Japan.

We are encouraging industry partners (like Fischer, One Way, etc) to pledge support, and North American ski fans can join this effort and donate as well. The money will go directly to skiers/ski venues in Japan.
