Snow at Sovereign Lake

release by Sovereign Lake Nordic Club
October 27, 2010 ( Sovereign Lake, BC) – The arrival of early season snow at SLNC is perfect timing to try skiing on the new stadium bridge which was finished yesterday. The bridge will be used heavily during this years Sparkling Hill Masters World Cup, March 3-11, as well as the North American Championships (NorAm) on December 11th and 12th.

We have had a busy summer at Sovereign with construction of both the bridge and a new 7km early season ski loop. The new Carl Wylie Loop is a huge step forward for our early season trails. The gentle rolling hills provide perfect terrain for our members as well as the large number of tourists and racers who visit Sovereign to kick off the ski season before they have snow at home.

Also Club programs are already in full swing under the direction of head coach Darren Derochie with record numbers of both youth and masters getting ready for another great season. We also have a new website to better inform members and visitors of everything happening at Sovereign Lake this season.
