Snow report – Haywood NorAm’s In Quebec City

January 1, 2006 – Here is an update on preparations for Haywood NorAm’s at Val Cartier.

As you can see on the photo below, the snow conditions are near perfect in Val Cartier host of the 3rd events of the 2005 Haywood NorAm Canada Cup series. There is over 2 feet of snow on the ground and the forecast is for more in the next week, followed by colder weather. The trails are in excellent condition with triple tracks being planned for the classic leg of the pursuit competitions.

The Haywood NorAm’s in Val Cartier will begin with Classic 10 / 15 km events on Thursday, January 5th followed by sprint races, the third in the Madshus Sprint Series on January 7th and pursuit races on the 8th. Over 350 competitors are expected to challenge for NorAm and Quebec Cup prizes.

Results of the Haywood NorAm’s at Val Cartier will be used to select Canada’s World Jr and World U23 team scheduled to compete over the first week of February in Kranj, SLO.
